Overwatch has released their newest event; Uprising!

Jeff Kaplan explains how players have really liked their Holiday Events such as Junkenstein’s Revenge and Mei’s Snowball Brawl. In the story and lore of the game, Uprising falls in what they call ‘The Golden Era”. More specifically, it’s important to note that this ‘Uprising’ mission is Tracer’s very first mission.

Overwatch has sent Mercy, Reinhardt, and Torbjorn to handle the situation in King’s Row with the aid of Tracer, their newest member.

This new update also brings a ton of new skins, animations, sprays, and voice lines. Skins such as McCree and Genji’s Blackwatch outfits are going to be phenomenal. Those of you who don’t know, Blackwatch was formed as an undercover team led by Gabriel Reyes, a.k.a. Reaper.

The update also adds a new arcade game mode, which is Uprising but with the ability to play as any hero you would like.

The Uprising game mode is live now so go check it out! Let us know what characters you use in the arcade mode!

Thor Vs HULK!?

Marvel Studios just released a teaser trailer for their newest MCU Film, Thor: Ragnarok.

Can I say hype?

The trailer starts off with our fellow Avenger being banished from Asgard as it crumbles under Hela’s wrath. She also surprisingly stops Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, and breaks it apart! The word Ragnarok means Apocalypse, sort of. So it’s no surprise that Asgard gets destroyed. We know that much.

We also know that another Avenger is in the film, the one and only Hulk. We didn’t know how he would be in the film, until this amazing trailer.

The end of the trailer shows Thor being pitted in a coliseum-like arena facing off against none other than our Hulkish friend. At first, Thor is seemingly happy to see his old friend yelling at the crowd, “We know each other! He’s a friend from work!” Until Hulk suspiciously runs toward Thor in a menacingly way, thus commencing the fight between the two.

The trailer also showed a nice soundtrack that hopefully sticks to the movie. The soundtrack, at least in the trailer, seems to pick up hints from MCU’s film, Guardians of The Galaxy. Not only the music though, the whole feel of the trailer makes it seem like this newest Thor film has a very Guardian’s-like vibe to it.

I alone can’t wait to see how the fight between the two Avengers will turn out, and how Thor will reclaim his home.

Naughty Dog Classics, Brought Back

A nice little reveal trailer dropped yesterday from our friends over at Naughty Dog. Fans would know that the studio has brought us exceptional games such as The Last of Us and The Uncharted series.

Their earliest games, you might remember were the Crash Bandicoot series!

After that those PlayStation 1 classics, they moved on to some of my favorite games of all time; The Jak and Daxter series.

In the reveal trailer that dropped April 3rd, Naughty Dog announced the PlayStation 2 classics are coming to PlayStation 4!

I personally can’t wait to replay Jak and Daxter and go through the whole “chosen one” and “time warp” thing again!

Overwatch PREQUEL?!

Jeff Kaplan recently announced plans to work on a story based on the fallen heroes, Soldier 76 and Reaper. Kaplin stated that although there are comics to explain the backstories of the loved characters in Overwatch, he wants more people to fully understand the complex story and relationship between 76 and Reaper.

I know what you’re thinking, it sounds like this would be a campaign based game.

And you’re right.

“Most of our games we tell the story through lore and dialogue between characters. We feel the dynamic of the two [76 and Reaper] is too strong and we’re not developing the relationship with the current game. There have been talks to add DLC skins but we’ve come to the conclusion that creating a solid game, like a prequel, to fully explain and explore their relationship would help the players understand the tension they have now.”

The future game will be campaign based and you’d be playing as both 76 and Reaper, alternating between missions. There has been no mention if the Prequel would have multiplayer or not.

Are you excited for the Overwatch prequel? Or do you feel like they shouldn’t make the game? Let’s hear your thoughts below!

Our 24th Overwatch Hero – Theory

Over the course of the past couple weeks, Overwatch has released pictures teasing a potential new hero. Last week, Overwatch released an interview with “Inventor Efi Oladele” via Twitter. Before the interview, it was stated that she is an eleven year old genius with a knack for robotics and artificial intelligence. ‘Atlas News’, the fictional news outlet set in the world of Overwatch, interviewed Efi, asking how she got into robotics. The quote that stood out the most by Efi was “…my dream is to build something that can keep us safe, like the new OR15s! I think that would be great.” You can read the rest of the interview here.

The reason that quote stood out though was because last Friday (Feb. 24), Overwatch released another picture via Twitter, showing us from the lenses of ‘Atlas News’ an “unknown attack in Numbani” where we see numerous robots destroyed. These robots are the OR15 models that Efi was talking about. In the center of the picture, we see that one of these models got smashed into the wall with high impact. An eleven year old can’t do that, plus she has said that her “dream us to build something that can keep us safe.” Before Efi was introduced to the players of Overwatch though, everyone was predicting the impeding return of ‘Doomfist,’ an antagonist in the world. Many people thought that Doomfist was responsible for this attack. Which brings up the most recent Twitter post by Overwatch.

This is a picture posted by our very own Efi Oladele of a list of things she needs to get. It’s good to see that Lucio has his own brand of cereal going for him, but more importantly it seems that Efi needs objects to create something big.

I have two theories, both revolving around the idea of Doomfist.

First Theory: Efi Oladele sought to create something better than the OR15 models. She created a towering robotic a.i. with such force and magnitude that could be the final answer to stopping crime. With the combination of Human and Omnic in one body, especially in the city of Numbani, that proudly boasts about their union, it makes sense that this is where it all goes wrong. Her creation ‘Doomfist’, something an eleven year old would name, goes haywire and starts to wreak havok.

Second Theory: Doomfist, a name that is known throughout the world, attacks Numbani. To help defend her people, and the world, Efi Oladele seeks to gather objects to create something big to fight against Doomfist. She asks the Overwatch Agents for help to gather these objects, and they do.

Whichever it is, I’m certain that the objects Efi needs or used to create, are all being carried on the payload maps we already play on. She needs a “Branford arm”, that could be the official name of ‘Doomfist’s gauntlet’. She needs a fusion driver and a reactor, both objects are on payloads.

Whatever the case may be though, I’m super excited to find out who our 24th hero could be!

Middle – Earth: Shadow of War Announcement Trailer

Yesterday we got a leak via a Target listing for the game, Shadow of War. Today we got a trailer announcement for the game, and it looks fantastic!

The trailer starts off with a woman appearing from the darkness telling, what I’m assuming is the audience, that “the world of men is burning.” Following that, we catch glimpses of our previous hero(es), Talion [Ranger] and Celebrimbor [Wraith], forging a new kind of Ring of Power. All the while Sauron is preparing an army below. The trailer features great cinematic shots and beautiful looking animations.

The game will have an extended and upgraded version of their Nemesis system. It will feature a new gameplay dynamic that allows you to forge an army of your own. Your army “will bring about personal stories that include loyalty, betrayal and revenge” as said in the press release.

Catch Middle – Earth: Shadow of War August 22nd in North America and August 25th in Europe on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Project Scorpio, Steam and Windows 10.
