Nintendo looks to take the Indie game market…

The Nintendo Switch release is right around the corner. The popularity of the switch has been spreading like wild fire. Gary Jones from Express even reported that…

“The NINTENDO switch pre order numbers are reportedly taking on PS4 launch day sales with gusto”

Many gamers out there have been keeping their ears searching for more information of the unique console experience that NINTENDO is bringing with the Switch. There was a very large scare for the amount of releases that were to come for the year of 2017 that no one seemed sure how Nintendo was going to combat this. Well it looks like Nintendo has chosen their weapons for battle against Microsoft and Sony, that weapon being Indie games.

Nintendo is taking a very intruiging approach to their new console by making close connections with small indie companies. As reported by Chris Plante on The Verge,

Nintendo has a revised strategy for indie games: look forward rather than backward. That goal is a bit loaded. On one hand, it speaks to a general concept of newness. Its slate of upcoming indie games, which will be charged with filling the Switch’s slim release calendar, are largely new releases, many debuting exclusively on the portable-console hybrid. That is to say, few of them are releases of games that have appeared elsewhere (Stardew Valley being the obvious exception). But “looking forward rather than backward” also speaks to the company’s ongoing relationship with the people who make and publish indie video games — a group it has, to this point, largely neglected.”

It would be nice to see Nintendo make their climb back to the top with the Indie game market by their side. This could be a great way for not only Nintendo to Excell, but possibly see many deserving publishers to gain the success they deserve. So be on the look out for the many fascinating games that NINTENDO will be brining to the Nintendo Switch. Also get excited for March 3rd the release of the Nintendo Switch.

Microsoft’s Upcoming Subscription…

The power house company Microsoft recently announced a new gaming subscription that will be launching sometime in Spring of 2017. The subscription is in ways like the EA Access where you get to play a plethora of games for a monthly fee. The subscription total runs to 9.99$ a month for a grand total of 119.88 a year. The games will range from current titles like Halo Wars 5: Guardians to backwards compatible games like Saint’s Row IV. “Get Out” hits a home run on Rotten Tomatoes…

There have been countless numbers of movies that have been released, and for how many have been released a very small group have earned a 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Movies like “Toy Story 1 and 2”, “Singin’ in the Rain”, and “All Quiet on the Western Front” have had their success to a 100 percent, but I am sure everyone is shocked what the newest movie to reach that goal is… Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” is the newest movie to hit the 100 mark on Rotten Tomatoes for it’s  impeccable script writing.

Peele has written a script that is extremely well-paced and executed as it cleverly plays with allusions to slavery and racial stereotypes, as well as audience expectations. -Brian Truitt (USA Today)

On top of his incredible script development many of the critics are praising Peele’s ability to tie horror with pleasently placed hummor elements…

The shocks and the laughs are thoroughly entertaining, but it’s the truth of “Get Out” that’s so real. – Ann Hornaday (Washington Post)

“Get Out” hits theatres Friday February 24th for all of you movie lovers. So make sure to go check it out, and tweet us @TheNerdChambers to tell us what your thoughts are!

My first Overwatch Season…

So after the last 2 months of grinding Overwatch, I have realized I have made a huge mistake… Why did I not buy this game at launch!? I got this game as a gift for Christmas after many of my friends begged me to buy it for the last year. A lot of my friends scared me into thinking this game was more of a MOBA , as they explained it to be a 3 lane style game, with “Champions” , and no real level system… Which scared me away from an earlier purchase. Biggest gaming mistake I’ve made so far is not buying this game on release…

The last 2 months of gaming has been the most refreshing time I’ve had since Modern Warfare 2. I have been in a rut of games ever since Infinite Warfare dropped in late 2016. It didn’t grab me as well as Black Ops 3, so I really needed a new game to grasp me into hours and hours of gaming. Well thank you overwatch 90 hours in 2 months I am satisfied.

As for my rank. I made it to diamond before the season’s end. Super happy with my rank since I placed around 2450 (High Gold), and finished in low Diamond 3033. Thanks to many of hours of researching characters to play, and how to master certain heroes. I found my love… Mei❄. She was one of the heroes I put a lot of time into accumulating 22 hours with the goddess of Ice. I also worked a lot with Roadhog, Lucio, Genji, and at the end of the season Zenyatta. It was a blast the whole season. I ended the season in low Diamond at 3033, so shooting for the stars to reach into Master rank next season!

Next season will be upon us Tuesday the 28th of February. Up untill then I will be spending my time trying to master Zarya, Mcree, and give me a character to work on! Tweet us @TheNerdChambers and tell me which character I should try and master next!

Reviews of Halo Wars 2…

February 27th 2009 was the release of the first halo wars. This was the first time that the halo franchise branched off into the real time strategy game style. It was a great way for the first person shooter crowd to get into the real time strategy with all of their favorite characters. Metacritic gave the new release an 81%. All around the critics are enjoying the game. The real snags are some early game glitches here and there. Also just not enough cinematic emersion that the first game gave us. That being said, critics are loving the cinematics for how intense and beautiful they look.

I wholeheartedly urge you to check out Halo Wars 2, whether it’s with the release of the Ultimate Edition this week or the standard release next Tuesday. It’s packed with content on both the multiplayer and single-player side, all of which is fun to play. It also has a pretty fantastic story attached to it, incredible cutscenes, and an amazing soundtrack to boot. Ideally we won’t have to wait another 9 years for a Halo Wars 3. -Gaming Age

One thing is for certain, though. Between Multiplayer, Blitz Mode, and Halo Wars 2’s stellar 2-player co-op campaign, there’s truly something for everyone in this wonderfully polished package. This is the best RTS on Xbox One today, by far. And it’s a stunning entry in the Halo pantheon. -Windows Central

Make sure to follow TheNerdChambers to see our review for Halo Wars 2 later this week!
