Who is ShadowGhoul?

Hello people of the Nerdum! I am the co-creater of The Nerd Chambers with the man, the myth, the legend… JaceRush. A little bit about me to start… I have a huge love for the world of fantasy such as Lord of the Rings and D&D. On top of that my fascination for super heroes is second to none. Some of you may be asking why is his name ShadowGhoul? Well thank you very first yugioh card! The connection that Jace Rush and I started was because we are both huge gamers of course. but a huge love that I have is the comic book side of the nerd world! I absolutely love comic cons such as , C2E2 and Wiard World, I will be hopefully dragging JaceRush along with me this year for him to experience the incredible world of Cons! I have been collecting comics for the last 4 years now, and have started with the Amazing Spider-Man series. I will hopefully begin to expand my collection into Flash this year, but for now I will try and complete my Amazing Spider-Man run! JaceRush and I have been gaming together for close to a year now thanks to us attending the same broadcasting school. We dominate the world of Rocket League and Overwatch together on PS4, and have a great time doing it. We are hoping to bring an outlet for all of our fellow nerds out there to relate to and spark conversations with. Feel free to tweet us @TheNerdChambers to get a conversation going on gaming topics or if you want to join our empire to conquer the PSN world of overwatch send us your own names!

We are open to any ideas of games to try and new topics to cover in the culture of nerdom, so please feel free to tweet us your ideas to @TheNerdChambers on Twitter! Also be sure to follow to see any special give aways, new stories, and upcoming guests! So let the forces of nerds band together, and help conquer the world by joining The Nerd Chambers.

Pokemon Sun and Moon Hype is Real

The Pokémon Company has been very busy this year celebrating Pokémon’s 20th anniversary. From free mythical Pokémon codes to tons of new tins and special sets for the Pokémon Trading Card Game to Pokémon Go, they have been going all out in pushing there brand back in the spotlight prior to the release of their new games Sun and Moon, and it has worked very well. The demo recently released for Pokémon Sun and Moon has become the most downloaded demo in Nintendo 3DS history with over three and a half million downloads. If that is not enough to show that Pokémon is going to be the biggest launch of 2016, according to an article on IGN (which you can read here) it is now the most preordered game in 3DS history. No official preorder numbers have been given but with Sun and Moon being the first new region of Pokémon since X and Y (which shipped over 16 million copies), I would not be surprised that, by the time it is all said and done, Sun and Moon ships close to 20 million copies. I am sure The Pokémon Company would love to see those kind of numbers to wrap up what has been a huge year for them.

Our Favorite Announcements from Gamescom 2016 (Thus Far)

Europe’s huge gaming convention kicked off earlier in the week and there have been some big announcements so far. Here are a few things that you should be looking forward to that was announced this week.

  • Metal Gear Survive- Konami’s first dive into the Metal Gear universe without Kojima, the first trailer for Metal Gear Survive might possibly the biggest announcement thus far. The game is connected to the ending of Metal Gear Solid Ground Zero. Four agents get sucked into a wormhole along with Mother Base and end up in an alternate universe. Its seems you like will be playing as one of the four agents in this co-op survival game. From the trailer, it seems as though you will be scavenging for materials and items to help survive against crystallized zombies, all while surviving inside the remains of Mother Base. You can check out the trailer here.
  • Mass Effect Remastered… Sort Of- In an interview with Game Informer, EA Studios Executive VP Patrick Soderland stated “I can’t announce anything today, but you can expect us most likely to follow our fellow partners in Activision and other companies that have done [remasters] successfully,” when asked about remastering the Mass Effect series. This is promising news to those that are looking to explore the galaxy in the Normandy once again.
  • For Honor Alpha News- Ubisofts’s upcoming melee-style action game has a new trailer that debuted at Gamescom and, along with it, news on the first closed alpha for the game. September 15th-18th people who sign up for the test will get their first glimpse at the highly anticipated game, which is slated for a Valentine’s Day release next year. For more information and signups for the alpha you can visit the For Honor website here.

Those were just a few of our favorite announcements from Gamescom thus far. There is sure to be more exciting announcement with Tokyo Game Show, Playstation Experience, and The Game Awards still to come later in the year. For more gaming news and insight be sure to check back with us here at The Nerd Chambers and follow us on Twitter, @TheNerdChambers, to stay up to date with articles and The Nerd Chambers Podcast.
