In our continued effort to bring more content to you, we at The Nerd Chambers will be meeting tomorrow afternoon to discuss the future. This discussion will also include a few new people we are going to be adding to the team. By expanding the team, we are expecting to get more articles out each day and report as much news as we can for you.
In addition to getting more news content to you guys, with a bigger team we are going to be able to expand our social media presence as well. We have continued to stay active on Twitter (@TheNerdChambers if you didn’t already know), but we will now look to have a presence on Facebook and Instagram as we hope to extend our content to a larger audience. In addition to that, we are going to start doing more streaming on Twitch as well. Some of us play competitive Overwatch together so you can expect a good bit of that but we will also be streaming playthroughs of the biggest releases.
Some other things to look forward to are, new logos and artwork, coverage of esports events (including live tweets and wrap up articles), and we will even be actively looking for ways to upgrade the site and make it more user friendly. The last, and most important, thing is that in the coming weeks we will start The Nerd Chambers Podcast once again. This was how The Nerd Chambers got it’s start so we are excited to bring back the podcast and we will be sure to add more production value, to make it bigger and better.
Everyone here at The Nerd Chambers is excited about our future as we continue to build, and provide a great source of gaming and entertainment news. Be on the lookout for when we get Facebook and Instagram pages live. Also you can listen to old The Nerd Chambers Podcasts to see what you are in store for when we bring it back on our Soundcloud.
Let us know what you guys think of the coming upgrades to The Nerd Chambers and what else you would like to see from us by tweeting at us.
There have been countless numbers of movies that have been released, and for how many have been released a very small group have earned a 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Movies like “Toy Story 1 and 2”, “Singin’ in the Rain”, and “All Quiet on the Western Front” have had their success to a 100 percent, but I am sure everyone is shocked what the newest movie to reach that goal is… Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” is the newest movie to hit the 100 mark on Rotten Tomatoes for it’s impeccable script writing.
Peele has written a script that is extremely well-paced and executed as it cleverly plays with allusions to slavery and racial stereotypes, as well as audience expectations. -Brian Truitt (USA Today)
On top of his incredible script development many of the critics are praising Peele’s ability to tie horror with pleasently placed hummor elements…
The shocks and the laughs are thoroughly entertaining, but it’s the truth of “Get Out” that’s so real. – Ann Hornaday (Washington Post)
“Get Out” hits theatres Friday February 24th for all of you movie lovers. So make sure to go check it out, and tweet us @TheNerdChambers to tell us what your thoughts are!
It was recently reported by PC Gamer, that the skill system in Mass Effect: Andromeda is going to be limitless in multiple ways. The first being that players will get to add skill points into any of the three skill trees (combat, biotics, and tech). Each of those skill trees will have 12 categories to upgrade as well. The second way is that players will be given the opportunity to spend credits in game to respec their character.
The final way that Mass Effect is going to have a limitless skill system is that there will be no level cap in the game. As confirmed by lead designer Ian Frazier, it is possible for players to max out every skill in each skill tree. He does warn that it would take some time and that players would have to reach approximately level 123 to be able to max out the skill tree so players can expect to have plenty to do in the next installment of the Mass Effect Universe.
You can see even more detail, and screen shots of the skill menu over at PC Gamer.
What are you most looking forward to in Mass Effect: Andromeda? Let us know on Twitter @TheNerdChambers.
In honor of the Oscars coming up, Sony is having a massive sale on the biggest games of 2016. Their critics choice sale will be going on until February 28th and some of the games on there are must buys. These are the most notable deals (for us) in this weeks sale.
- Darkest Dungeon (Original Price $24.99) $12.49/$9.99 w/PS Plus
- Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY Edition (Original Price $39.99) $19.99/$15.99 w/PS Plus
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience (Original Price $49.99) $29.99/24.99 w/PS Plus
- Overwatch (Original Price $59.99) $53.99/$49.79 w/PS Plus
- The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition (Original Price $49.99) $29.99/$24.99 w/PS Plus
Many of you may think, “why add Overwatch when it’s barely on sale,” well I will answer your question by simply asking, have you played it? It is one of the most polished games on the market and its incredibly fun.
Also if you have not tried Darkest Dungeon now is a great time to get your hands on one of the best indie games in the past couple years. It is a fun roguelike strategy game that has garnered a lot of praise with an 84 on Metacritic.
You can find the full list of these great games, and many more on Playstation Blog and let us know some of your favorites that are on sale by tweeting us @TheNerdChambers.
So after the last 2 months of grinding Overwatch, I have realized I have made a huge mistake… Why did I not buy this game at launch!? I got this game as a gift for Christmas after many of my friends begged me to buy it for the last year. A lot of my friends scared me into thinking this game was more of a MOBA , as they explained it to be a 3 lane style game, with “Champions” , and no real level system… Which scared me away from an earlier purchase. Biggest gaming mistake I’ve made so far is not buying this game on release…
The last 2 months of gaming has been the most refreshing time I’ve had since Modern Warfare 2. I have been in a rut of games ever since Infinite Warfare dropped in late 2016. It didn’t grab me as well as Black Ops 3, so I really needed a new game to grasp me into hours and hours of gaming. Well thank you overwatch 90 hours in 2 months I am satisfied.
As for my rank. I made it to diamond before the season’s end. Super happy with my rank since I placed around 2450 (High Gold), and finished in low Diamond 3033. Thanks to many of hours of researching characters to play, and how to master certain heroes. I found my love… Mei❄. She was one of the heroes I put a lot of time into accumulating 22 hours with the goddess of Ice. I also worked a lot with Roadhog, Lucio, Genji, and at the end of the season Zenyatta. It was a blast the whole season. I ended the season in low Diamond at 3033, so shooting for the stars to reach into Master rank next season!
Next season will be upon us Tuesday the 28th of February. Up untill then I will be spending my time trying to master Zarya, Mcree, and give me a character to work on! Tweet us @TheNerdChambers and tell me which character I should try and master next!
It is a sad day for many, as the Overwatch competitive season ends at 4pm PST today. For those that would grind for hours to get that SR all the way up to Master ranks or even dreamed of making that top 500 finish, their grind starts over again. I myself started very late this competitive season, and by late I mean started just over a week ago (lul). At least I can say I made it all the way up to Platinum this season and now that I have gotten back into the swing of things, I have big dreams for season 4.
For those that were mired in mediocrity because of lack of teamwork, it is your chance to start anew. Especially with some updates set to be coming out soon (including that recon mode update for Bastion that many are dreading) it gives people a chance to jump on a shift in meta. What is unfortunate is that for the next week, there will be no competitive games to be played and we will all be forced to troll in quick play until Season 4 starts on the 28th.
I will definitely be messing around with some new heroes to use in the next week until the new season. I have already been working on Zenyatta, Roadhog and Genji to add to my repertoire for the new season. Anyways, we here at The Nerd Chambers cannot wait to get back to the grind of competitive play when the new season hits and we hope you guys join us!
Let us know what you are looking forward to in Season 4, and how Season 3 went for you guys! Tweet us @TheNerdChambers
February 27th 2009 was the release of the first halo wars. This was the first time that the halo franchise branched off into the real time strategy game style. It was a great way for the first person shooter crowd to get into the real time strategy with all of their favorite characters. Metacritic gave the new release an 81%. All around the critics are enjoying the game. The real snags are some early game glitches here and there. Also just not enough cinematic emersion that the first game gave us. That being said, critics are loving the cinematics for how intense and beautiful they look.
I wholeheartedly urge you to check out Halo Wars 2, whether it’s with the release of the Ultimate Edition this week or the standard release next Tuesday. It’s packed with content on both the multiplayer and single-player side, all of which is fun to play. It also has a pretty fantastic story attached to it, incredible cutscenes, and an amazing soundtrack to boot. Ideally we won’t have to wait another 9 years for a Halo Wars 3. -Gaming Age
One thing is for certain, though. Between Multiplayer, Blitz Mode, and Halo Wars 2’s stellar 2-player co-op campaign, there’s truly something for everyone in this wonderfully polished package. This is the best RTS on Xbox One today, by far. And it’s a stunning entry in the Halo pantheon. -Windows Central
