    • [CONSOLE] Damage per second increased from 21 to 25.5

Torbjorn

  • Build Turret
    • [CONSOLE] Damage increased from 10 to 12

  • New Hero Option: Harmony Orb Sensitivity
    • Allows players to adjust Harmony Orb’s targeting sensitivity
  • New Hero Option: Discord Orb Sensitivity
    • Allows players to adjust Discord Orb’s targeting sensitivity

And finally the biggest point of emphasis…

  • Respawn Delay
    • When attackers outnumber defenders while taking a control point on Assault, Escort and Assault/Escort maps, the defenders’ respawn time will slowly increase until it hits a maximum value or the defense manages to gain the upper hand.

There is a lot to take in with this update. Winston is going to be a more viable option with his critical hit space being reduced by a fairly significant amount. Symmetra and Torbjorn both see significant buffs in damage. If you guys thought Symmetra turrets were annoying before, get ready to rage in Season 4. Torbjorn’s damage buff, however, was necessary because his turrets became pin cushions. The little tweaks, like Mercy’s invulnerability during her ultimate, Mei being able to be targeted by allies while frozen, and D.Va’s Defense Matrix buff against projectiles, are minor things that needed to be adjusted for balance sake.

It will be interesting to see how the adjusting of the sensitivity on auto lock skills will work, it could help make heroes like Zenyatta and Mercy become much more efficient in healing. Finally, the biggest buff coming out to everyone’s favorite turret Bastion. His recon mode gains a lot of efficiency now that he can heal and his bullet spread was significantly reduced. His turret mode does get balanced a bit and some would even argue nerfed now that there are not critical hits in sentry mode. Overall I like the change to Bastion because it makes him a much more versatile option for a composition.

Finally the only overall nerf to a character comes to the big belly bruiser Roadhog. I will say though, I have to agree with the increase in pull distance from Roadhog because his hook was an automatic kill if landed against any hero. The weapon spread decrease does somewhat balance out the change but overall it was a much needed change.

Pokemon Go Hits Another Milestone

It has been reported by Niantic, creators of Pokemon Go, that the app that set the world on fire last summer has reached another milestone marker. Pokemon Go has now been downloaded 650 million times in less than a year of being available. In fact, it was reported by Mashable that Pokemon Go was the 3rd most downloaded app on the App Store in 2016 behind only SnapChat and Messenger.

Now it is no secret that Pokemon Go lost a head of steam after their crack down on the tracker function of the app, but with their recent update that added the Johto region Pokemon to the game has done enough to get fans back to Pokemon hunting. So those of you that have not visited the app in a while because you got tired of catching the same Pokemon over and over again, it’s time to get back in the game.

Microsoft’s Upcoming Subscription…

The power house company Microsoft recently announced a new gaming subscription that will be launching sometime in Spring of 2017. The subscription is in ways like the EA Access where you get to play a plethora of games for a monthly fee. The subscription total runs to 9.99$ a month for a grand total of 119.88 a year. The games will range from current titles like Halo Wars 5: Guardians to backwards compatible games like Saint’s Row IV. This may be the best way to get the biggest bang for your buck if your an Xbox One owner and enjoy numerous titles.

Subscribers will be able to purchase the games in a catalog at a discount (20 percent off games, and 10 percent off add-ons) as stated by Mike Fahey on Kotaku

Microsoft is definitely making strides to catch up to Sony on sales on the current gen consoles with moves like this. Tweet us @TheNerdChambers to let us know is Xbox One Game Pass intruiging to you? Is this a good way for Microsoft to make a bigger impact on current gen?

Our 24th Overwatch Hero – Theory

Over the course of the past couple weeks, Overwatch has released pictures teasing a potential new hero. Last week, Overwatch released an interview with “Inventor Efi Oladele” via Twitter. Before the interview, it was stated that she is an eleven year old genius with a knack for robotics and artificial intelligence. ‘Atlas News’, the fictional news outlet set in the world of Overwatch, interviewed Efi, asking how she got into robotics. The quote that stood out the most by Efi was “…my dream is to build something that can keep us safe, like the new OR15s! I think that would be great.” You can read the rest of the interview here.

The reason that quote stood out though was because last Friday (Feb. 24), Overwatch released another picture via Twitter, showing us from the lenses of ‘Atlas News’ an “unknown attack in Numbani” where we see numerous robots destroyed. These robots are the OR15 models that Efi was talking about. In the center of the picture, we see that one of these models got smashed into the wall with high impact. An eleven year old can’t do that, plus she has said that her “dream us to build something that can keep us safe.” Before Efi was introduced to the players of Overwatch though, everyone was predicting the impeding return of ‘Doomfist,’ an antagonist in the world. Many people thought that Doomfist was responsible for this attack. Which brings up the most recent Twitter post by Overwatch.

This is a picture posted by our very own Efi Oladele of a list of things she needs to get. It’s good to see that Lucio has his own brand of cereal going for him, but more importantly it seems that Efi needs objects to create something big.

I have two theories, both revolving around the idea of Doomfist.

First Theory: Efi Oladele sought to create something better than the OR15 models. She created a towering robotic a.i. with such force and magnitude that could be the final answer to stopping crime. With the combination of Human and Omnic in one body, especially in the city of Numbani, that proudly boasts about their union, it makes sense that this is where it all goes wrong. Her creation ‘Doomfist’, something an eleven year old would name, goes haywire and starts to wreak havok.

Second Theory: Doomfist, a name that is known throughout the world, attacks Numbani. To help defend her people, and the world, Efi Oladele seeks to gather objects to create something big to fight against Doomfist. She asks the Overwatch Agents for help to gather these objects, and they do.

Whichever it is, I’m certain that the objects Efi needs or used to create, are all being carried on the payload maps we already play on. She needs a “Branford arm”, that could be the official name of ‘Doomfist’s gauntlet’. She needs a fusion driver and a reactor, both objects are on payloads.

Whatever the case may be though, I’m super excited to find out who our 24th hero could be!

Middle – Earth: Shadow of War Announcement Trailer

Yesterday we got a leak via a Target listing for the game, Shadow of War. Today we got a trailer announcement for the game, and it looks fantastic!

The trailer starts off with a woman appearing from the darkness telling, what I’m assuming is the audience, that “the world of men is burning.” Following that, we catch glimpses of our previous hero(es), Talion [Ranger] and Celebrimbor [Wraith], forging a new kind of Ring of Power. All the while Sauron is preparing an army below. The trailer features great cinematic shots and beautiful looking animations.

The game will have an extended and upgraded version of their Nemesis system. It will feature a new gameplay dynamic that allows you to forge an army of your own. Your army “will bring about personal stories that include loyalty, betrayal and revenge” as said in the press release.

Catch Middle – Earth: Shadow of War August 22nd in North America and August 25th in Europe on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Project Scorpio, Steam and Windows 10.

Twitch Users Will Soon Get to Buy Games on Site

Twitch just announced earlier today on their blog that users will be able to buy games and in-game content directly from their website. The way it will work is that viewers that are interested in the game that is being played by a given streamer will be able to purchase the game via a link below the video player, if the game is available through the “Get it on Twitch” program.

This program, however, will only be available with partnered streamers who agree to be apart of it, but if you are a broadcaster, why wouldn’t you? Not only will does this increase interactivity between a streamer and his/her chat, it is also going to be another way for viewers to support streamers. What we mean is that 5% of the revenue earned in this program is going straight to the streamers channel from which it is purchased.

It will also benefit the viewer as well as Twitch will be giving out TwitchCrates to anyone who purchase through the “Get it on Twitch” program. The crates will contain “a game-specific emote, a chat badge, or some Bits,” according to the blog post.

There are already several game developers that have jumped on board with this program like Ubisoft and Telltale, and the games that will be apart of the program will be announced in the near future. The program itself is expected to start this Spring so be on the lookout.

Horizon Zero Dawn is Almost Here

Horizon Zero Dawn will be launching tonight, and we at The Nerd Chambers cannot wait to finally get our hands on it. Preloading is already live for those of you that are purchasing it digitally. For those that are picking it up retail, Gamestop is having a strange early release for the game. People who are looking to pick up the game will be able to pick up their copy between 9pm(central) and 9:30. It is strange that people will only have a half hour window to pick up the game but it is nice for people picking it up retail because they will be able to have the updates installed by the time the game officially goes live at 11pm(Central).

The gameplan for us is to stream the game as soon as possible tonight. The latest we expect the stream to go live is 12am on Twitch, so be sure to look out for the stream to go live and don’t forget to follow the channel so you know every time we stream. Then we will be hoping to having a Horizon Zero Dawn review up in the next few days for you guys.
