As we all know the current Star Wars trilogy is coming to an end with (Untitled) Episode IX coming out December 20th… This begs a big question, what is next for the Star Wars franchise? There are hundreds of different theories out there with what is to come for the Star Wars universe. Disney can take several different routes for the franchise, and the main focus seems to be a NEW standalone trilogy directed by Rian Johnson (Director of The Last Jedi). Outside of a new trilogy there are a bunch of rumors of upcoming solo spin off films such as Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Boba Fett, and some other films!
This is where we step in to play… At the Nerd Chambers we have a hunch it HAS to be one of two options… DARTH FREAKIN MAUL or the man, the myth, the legend… Obi-Wan Kenobi. I, myself (Brandon), would really love to see an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie! Disney could do a lot with the film to really fill the gap between episode three and four, and on top of that Ewan McGregor is in his prime to play a seasoned Obi-Wan Kenobi! For some people the entire prequel trilogy was a disaster, but Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi performance was the superior portion of the franchise.
SPOILER ALERT TO HAN SOLO MOVIE!!!
Another intriguing single character based story would be Darth Maul… Darth Maul has always been a fan favorite for his menacing red and black face paint, horns, and bad ass dual sided light saber. We were all very sad to see him fall to his death in Episode I Phantom Menace, or did we…? Well thanks to the newest installment to the Star Wars franchise Solo: A Star Wars Story reveals that Darth Maul was not actually dead. Hardcore Star Wars fans would know though that Darth Maul still had a presence throughout the Clone Wars in the comics and The Clone Wars TV series. Personally I never thought that they would make this cannon (relevant to the movie franchise) since he was sliced in half and underwent a some-what Darth Vader transformation becoming part machine. Well, thanks to the newest installment to the Star Wars franchise Solo: A Star Wars Story, we now know that Darth Maul is in fact alive. This revelation opens up a huge door of opportunities for the Star Wars universe to dive into a beloved Star Wars character.
There are endless possibilities that Disney could proceed with the Star Wars franchise… We at the Nerd Chambers believe that the best plan of attack would either be a Darth Maul or Obi-Wan Kenobi spin off. It would be great to get the fan service we have all been waiting for! Until next time…
Today was a very lucky day for the shaeholders at Disney. The footage was a very minimal look at the upcoming film, but it did bring excitement for the shareholders at Disney! As we mentioned last week at The Nerd Chambers, the Star Wars Celebration is coming up very shortly. That being said we will most likely get our first public look at Star Wars Episode VII The Last Jedi during the celebration.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD. POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD. POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD.
There was a little insight posted on IGN by Alex Gilyadov about what happened during the shareholders event for Episode VII…
“Disney held its annual shareholders meeting in Denver where it showed off footage from The Last Jedi, previewing what happens immediately after the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. According to Los Angeles Times reporter Daniel Miller, the new clips shows Rey handing Luke his lightsaber while he asks Rey, “Who are you?”
Other characters also appeared in the screened footage, including Chewbacca, Finn, and General Leia, but Miller did not offer specific context for how they appear. Miller also said the footage jumped to a number of settings, from oceans to forests, deserts, and mountain ranges.”

On of the most exciting events in April is the ever so exciting Star Wars Celebration thanks to Lucas Films and Electronic Arts! This year I’m sure everyone is awaiting a trailer for Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi to possibly drop and fulfill all of our nerdy needs, but… Not only are we excited for the movie news there is also some rumored news about other upcoming projects like our passion at The Nerd Chambers video games! As we all may have heard there is an upcoming Star Wars battlefront game thanks to the ever so dominating companies DICE and Motive Studios are combining their excellent creativity to bring us Star Wars Battlefront 2.
As stated before we are excited to see how Battlefront 2 will come out since the most recent Battlefront was slightly underwhelming, but it still brought joy to the lovers of Star Wars. If you aren’t hopping aboard the hype train for Battlefront 2 maybe you can be excited for 1 of the other 2??? Star Wars projects! Oh yes I did… I said 2 other upcoming games! As stated by talented writer Eddie Makuch in his article “Dead Space Dev’s Star Wars Game Is Not “Star Wars Uncharted,” Coming in 2018″
“Uncharted veteran Amy Hennig is heading up development on the new Star Wars game that is currently in production at Dead Space and Battlefield Hardline studio Visceral Games. In a new interview with Glixel, Hennig stressed that the game will not be “Star Wars Uncharted.” The report says the game may be “spiritually similar” to Uncharted, but it will also be its own thing.” (Click the above text to visit Eddie Makuch’s article at GameSpot.com!)
This definitely brings a very interesting spin on the Star Wars gaming world! Other than this Uncharted inspired Star Wars game we are also going to see a third person style action game set in the vast Star Wars universe. Thanks to the innovating game studio Respawn who brought us Titanfall we will have another way to invest our life into the amazing Star Wars universe that we all know and love!
